The map tool is designed to simplify your journey, allowing you to discover, plan, and explore with ease.
Zooming and Moving
Zooming: Pinch your fingers together or apart on the map area to zoom in or out.
Moving: Drag your finger across the screen to move the map and explore different regions.
Key Features
Filters
The filters feature is designed to help you tailor the map to show only the information most relevant to your RV journey. The “Filters” button is located at the bottom of your map screen. Tap the “Filters” button to open the Filters screen.
From the open Filters screen, you can configure:
1. Campground Filters
You can configure filter preferences to display Fuel Stations and Rest Stops on your map.
- Fuel Stations: Toggle the button next to Fuel Stations on or off to show or hide fuel stations near you.
- Rest Stops: Toggle the button next to Rest Stops on or off to show or hide rest areas near you.
2. POI Filters
You can refine your search for nearby campgrounds by filtering based on criteria such as price, ratings, park types, and more.
- Price Slider: Selects the desired price range for your campground search. The slider is represented by the $ symbol, indicating increasing levels of expense.
- Star Rating: Selects the quality of the campground you’re looking for.
- Park Types: Opens a list of various park categories. Tap on the check icon next to the park type name to select the particular category.
- Affiliations: Opens a list of campground affiliations, including popular choices like Good Sam, KOA, Passport America, etc. Tap on the check icon next to the affiliation name to select it.
- Amenities: Includes or excludes amenities like Big Rig Access, Pull-Thru Sites, Water Hookup, Sewer Hookup, etc., by tapping on the check or cross icon next to the amenities.
- Reset Filters: Tap “Reset Filters” and press “Yes” to revert the filters back to default.

Map Layers
Map Layers allow you to choose different map views according to your need. Each map type provides unique information, allowing you to choose the best view for your needs.
- Street: This is the default map view, offering a clear and straightforward layout of roads, campgrounds, and points of interest (POIs), ideal for navigation and trip planning.
- Satellite: For a detailed real-world view of locations, the Satellite view shows aerial imagery.
- Terrain: The Terrain view depicts geographic areas with physical characteristics like elevation, slopes, and natural landforms. It's particularly useful for RVers interested in the topography of their destinations or routes.
This feature also provides a Weather overlay. Check the Weather checkbox to overlay current weather conditions onto any of the map views. Zoom out to see nationwide weather patterns.
View List
View List feature lists out all the POI’s and campgrounds near your current location. You can Sort this list by distance, alphabetical order, park ratings and reviews.
Search Bar Function
POI’s and campgrounds can be explored by using the search bar to find a specific park or POI. It can also be used to locate any custom stop.
Searching For Campgrounds or POI’s
You will find the Search bar at the top of the map screen.
- Tap on the Search Bar: Tap on the search bar to activate it.
- Enter Your Query: Enter the name of the park, POI, or location that you’re interested in. After you type in the third character, suggestions will appear below the search bar.
- Filter Results: Under the search bar, you can choose to view Cities, Parks, or Places.
Exploring Search Results
Once you’ve found a POI, park, or location you’re interested in, tap on the name. You will have three options to choose from- “Explore This Area”, “View Nearby Parks on Map”, and “Get Directions”. If the location you’ve tapped on is a park, you will get an additional option “View Park Details”.
- Explore This Area: Redirects you to the Home screen where you can download the map of the selected state. The Home screen is updated to show campgrounds, rest stops, and fuel stations near the selected location.
- “View Nearby Parks on Map” opens the map on the selected location and shows any campground near that area on the map.
- Get Directions: Opens the RV Safe GPS screen where you can navigate from your current location to the selected location. Refer to the "Using The GPS Feature" article to learn how to use the GPS feature.
- View Park Details: Opens the Park Details screen, which includes the park’s features, amenities, tips from fellow RVers, reviews, and more.
Adding Campgrounds to Your Lists
The map feature can be used to search for campgrounds and add them to your Favorites List. This allows you to keep track of all the places you find interesting and organize them in a way that makes sense for your travel plans. Here is how you can add your favorite campgrounds to your lists:
- Explore the Map or Use the Search Function: Begin by exploring the map or using the search function to find campgrounds. Once you've found a campground that interests you, tap on the campground name.
- Select “View Park Details”: This will open the park details screen.
- Tap on the Heart-Shaped Icon: On the top of the screen, tap on the heart-shaped icon. This will open the Lists screen where you can find your default Favorites list or any other lists that you have created.
- Select the desired List: Tap on the list to which you want to add the campground. A check mark confirms the selection.
- Tap “Done”: Tap “Done” on the top right-hand corner of the screen, and the campground will be added to your lists. You'll know the campground has been added to your favorites when you see a confirmation message or notice the Heart icon is highlighted.
