RV LIFE Trip Wizard: Moving from Classic (Old View)Trip Wizard FAQ

  • Updated

The RV LIFE Trip Planner now lives at trips.rvlife.com. It replaces Classic (Old View) Trip Wizard, and all of your trips, stops, and routes come with you. Below are answers to the questions members ask most as they make the move.

About the Move

What is changing?

Classic Trip Wizard is being replaced by the RV LIFE Trip Planner at trips.rvlife.com. It is the same trip planning tool you already use, rebuilt to load faster and hold up better when you are deep into planning a long trip.

When will I be moved?

Members are moved over in groups starting October 6, 2026. If your group has not been moved yet, you will see a banner in Classic Trip Wizard with the date Classic access ends and a Switch to New Trip Wizard button. You are welcome to switch early at any time. By October 26, 2026, every member will be using the new Trip Planner.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Your old bookmark takes you to the new Trip Planner on its own, so there is nothing you need to update. When your group is moved, opening Classic Trip Wizard brings you to the same page in the new Trip Planner.

Why did I get sent to the new Trip Planner when someone I know did not?

Members are moved in groups on different dates, so it is normal for one person to be moved before another. If you chose Switch to New Trip Wizard from the Classic banner, you were moved right away.

Your Trips and Settings

Will my trips still be there?

Yes. All of your trips, stops, and routes will be available in the New Design of Trip Wizard. If a trip ever looks like it is missing, please contact our Support team right away rather than creating it again, and we will look into it for you.

Why don't I see my RV in the New Design of Trip Wizard?

When your account moves to the new Trip Wizard, your trips and stops come with you, but the RVs you saved in the old view do not. You'll need to add your RV again in the new Trip Wizard. Until you do, your trips won't use your RV's dimensions or any route avoidances you had set up.

Will my routes change after I move to the New Design of Trip Wizard?

It is possible. Routes are built around your RV's details, and because your saved RV doesn't carry over, a trip may calculate a different route in the new Trip Wizard. After you add your RV, open your upcoming trips, make sure your RV is applied, and review each route before you travel.

Where did the miles or kilometers setting go?

Miles or kilometers is now a single setting on your RV LIFE account profile, under Units of Measurement, instead of something you choose trip by trip. Set it once and every trip follows.

Why did one of my trips switch units?

If you had set a trip to a different unit than your account, that trip now shows in your account setting. Your trip itself has not changed, only how distances and amounts are displayed. To change it, update Units of Measurement on your account profile.

Why does the Trip Planner look different?

It does look different, and that is expected. The Trip Planner has a refreshed design, but your trips are exactly the same. The tools you use to plan, such as trip settings, exports, sharing, printing, and turn by turn directions, are all still there.

I cannot find a feature I used in Classic (Old View). Where did it go?

Most features have moved to a new spot in the refreshed layout rather than going away. If you cannot find something, please reach out to our Support team and we will point you to it.

Classic Trip Wizard and Getting Help

Can I go back to Classic Trip Wizard?

Yes, until October 26, 2026. In the Trip Planner, open your profile menu and choose Switch to Old View. This is a temporary option, so you may need to choose it again the next time you open the Trip Planner or after you sign out.

When does Classic Trip Wizard retire?

Classic Trip Wizard access ends on October 26, 2026. After that date, all trip planning on the web happens in the RV LIFE Trip Planner, so now is a good time to get comfortable in the new one.

Why was I taken to a billing page instead of my trips?

The Trip Planner checks for an active RV LIFE subscription when it opens. If your subscription is not active, you are taken to your billing page so you can renew. If your subscription is active and you still see this, please contact our Support team.

Who can I contact if I need help?

Our Support team is happy to help you find your way around the new Trip Planner. Reach out any time through the RV LIFE Help Center or by emailing us at support@rvlife.com.
