RV LIFE Trip Wizard allows you to lock in dates for any stops on your trip that you don’t want to be moved around when adding more stops.
It forces the date of stay at the particular stop to not change when changes are made to the trip. The system also ensures that no other stop you add will conflict with this date
For instance, if you've booked a stay at a park for Labor Day, you don’t need to count the days manually—your trip will automatically align with the correct date.
You can simply add the stop, lock the date, and then plan your preceding stops accordingly.
Locking Stop Dates
To lock stop dates, you need to first create a trip as you normally would.
- Create a new trip and enter the name of the trip, add your start date and the starting location. In this case, the trip name is “Lock Stop Date Test”, and the start date is August 13, 2026.
- For this example, you’re starting your trip from North Central Carrollton, TX. Then, you have a reservation at Moraine Park Campground in Colorado starting August 17 for three nights, leaving on August 20.
- Add Moraine Park Campground to your trip by clicking on the “Add Stop” pill and using the search bar. Refer to the Start Planning Your New Trip article if you have trouble creating your trip.
- In the Add to Your Trip screen, first toggle “Lock Date of Stay” to ON.
- Then, click on the calendar icon below “Arrival and Departure Dates”. This will open a calendar. Select the range from August 17 to August 20, and click “Confirm”. This is what the screen should look like next:
- Add any note you might want to. Once you are done, click the red “Add Stop” button.
As you can see, your date/destination is now posted in the Trip Drawer along with a lock icon to denote that it is locked in.
You'll also notice a field in between your starting point and locked destination which tells you how many unplanned nights you have between these two stops.
Below, you’ll see that several stops have been added to the journey, with one night remaining before reaching the locked-in destination at Moraine Park Campground. The set date is locked, preventing it from shifting when additional stops are added.
Unlocking a Locked Stop
If you need to unlock the stop:
- Click on the specific stop. This will open the stop information.
- Click on the lock icon. This will unlock the locked stop.
You can now plan your trip as usual, picking out specific parks or points of interest along your route.
