While the trips planned on Trip Wizard are easily accessible through the RV LIFE Mobile App for navigation, we understand some members might look for an alternative as well.
The trips planned on Trip Wizard can easily be imported into Google Maps for navigation.
How To Import Trips to Google Maps
- Download the .gpx file from the GPS Export menu. To learn how to export the file, click HERE.
- After the file is downloaded, open Google My Maps where you will see the following screen once you have signed in to Google:
- Click the red “CREATE A NEW MAP” button.
NOTE: Google does not allow importing GPX into Google Maps directly from a mobile device. To import a GPX file into Google Maps on your mobile device, first download the file to your computer. Then, import it into your Google Maps. This will sync the map with your mobile device for easy access.
- A blank map will then appear. To make your map easier to find later, give it a name by clicking in the upper left where it says Untitled Map.
- A popup will then appear where you can add the Map name. You can also add any descriptions that you might require. Then, click “Save”.
- Now that the map has a name, click on the blue “Import” button under the map name.
- A new window will appear titled Choose A File To Import. Click on “Browse” and then find the .gpx file that you downloaded. Double click on the file to open it.
NOTE: The file may take a few moments to load depending on the number of stops on your trip.
Your trip is now available to access on Google Maps.
