Custom Stops

  • Updated

Custom stops are any stops that you add to your Trip Planner manually. Any address that is not listed as a Point of Interest on Trip Wizard could be called a Custom Stop.

These stops could just be a day stop as well as an overnight stop.

Adding a Custom Stop

For this example, let’s say we are at Cherry Hill Park, a well known park situated outside Washington DC. From Cherry Park, say we want to get to Philadelphia, PA to stay the night, but want to visit the Gettysburg National Military Park along the way.

  • Enter “Gettysburg National Military Park” and select it. It will appear as a custom stop (purple pin). Select the purple pin to view location details

  • Click on “Add to trip”. Since this is a Point of Interest and not a RV Park/Campground, a Custom Stop window will appear

  • In this example, we’ve set the Number of Nights to zero (0). You can add any comments you might want to. Then, click on Save Custom Stop. It will then be shown as a day stop on your Trip Drawer

You can then continue planning your trip to Philadelphia by either entering a location via the Search bar or selecting a location on the map.

TIP: You can also add a Custom Stop by right clicking on a point on the map where you’d like to create a stop and selecting “Create a Custom Stop”.

Customizing Custom Stops

Another nice feature of the address field is that you can customize individual stop names. This can be useful to clear out any confusion regarding the stops.

For example, say you want to visit Joe, your brother, overnight. Say he lives in Camden, New Jersey.

  • Enter the address in the search box (or select “Create a Custom Stop” after right clicking on any point on the map) and select “Add to Trip”. This will open the Custom Stop window.
  • Under Name, simply change the stop name to whatever you prefer. In this case, we have named it “Joe’s Place”.

  • Since this is an overnight stop, change the Number of Nights to one (1).
  • Add comments about the stay if you’d like, then click on “Save Custom Stop”. The stop will be automatically renamed in the Trip Drawer as shown below:
